Last month we went to Lewis Grandma's house to visit. On our way there Whitney said to me that she had always wanted to be a "pioneer children". Imagine her complete joy when she discovered that Grandma had a pioneer children dress and bonnet in her size and in mine! We walked around Grandma's house singing "pioneer children sang as the walked and walked and walked and walked and" (you get the idea). She had so much fun being a pioneer kid. She wanted to take the outfit home. Grandma convinced her to leave it there so she would have some dress up when she comes to visit. Ever since this trip she has been talking to my mom about making a pioneer bonnet of her very own. It is the bonnet that makes you an official pioneer, the dress doesn't matter. You can wear any dress but add a bonnet and voila, your a pioneer!!

I think she makes a very good pioneer child. The picture of the close up....very thoughtful, and meloncaly. Just like a child of the old days probably would've acted while walking as much as they did. I just love her theatrical side!!
